As they move through the substrate, they ingest it and digest any algae, detritus and bacteria attached, which provides nutrition.

Comments:
It requires peaceful tankmates. If it is attacked or injured, it could expel it's internal organs, which are toxic to fish. After it retreats, it can regenerate the organs.
